Basic Allowance For Housing (BAH)

You can contact the housing office at 270-798-3808. Please keep in mind that there is a process involved in renting on post housing to include wait times.

Fort Carson is home to the 4th Infantry Division and the 10th Special Forces Group as well as hosting the Army Reserve, the Navy Reserve, and the Colorado National Guard. Fort Carson is located north of Pueblo, Colorado. Fort Carson is also home to the Pinon Canyon Maneuver Site which is the Army’s largest training are in the United States. The area is currently used for V-22 Osprey helicopter training flights. Fort Carson was the first Army base to offer privatized ho using. GMH Military Housing-Fort Carson acquired the contract and is renovating all older housing projects on base. Personnel should check in with the Omni Property Management office located on Woodfill Road in Building 7301. Each home is equipped with refrigerator, stove, and washer/dryer hookup. Some units have dishwashers. Waiting lists for most quarters are 12-24 months. If personnel are interested in off-post housing, homes are available to rent or buy by contacting the Housing Referral Office on-post. If temporary lodging is needed while on a waiting list, the Colorado Inn offers families accommodations on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations can be made by calling 719-526-4832. If the inn is full, other properties in the community will offer accommodations at normal hotel rates.
There are three elementary schools and a middle school located on Fort Carson and for those students living on base, there is bus service to the local high school, Fountain-Fort Carson High School. If student live off post, there are over 150 public schools available them overseen by the Colorado State Board of Education in 10 separate school districts. Private and charter schools are also available. For specific school information, contact the Family Connection in Building 1354, Monday through Friday. Fort Carson also has a child development center which offers full-day and hourly child care in three separate locations: Building 6058, Building 6060, and building 6267. Call 719-526-1100 for more information on specific child care programs. In-home child care is also available for those living on post by calling 719-526-3338.
